Dimtu Coffee Industry

Rooted in Guji, Growing for the World

In the early 2000s, the rolling hills of Guji in Ethiopia were alive with the promise of something remarkable. Coffee, sacred to the land and its people, was nurtured by pioneers. Among them was Getachew Zekele, a young boy from Addis Ababa whose life would be shaped by the land of Tero Kebele. It was there he first experienced coffee as the heartbeat of daily life, recalling, “It feeds our gatherings, honors our rituals, and blesses our leaders. It’s more than just a drink; its tradition, community, and pride”.

Our Journey and Growth

Though raised in the bustling capital, Getachew chose to remain rooted in the fertile hills of Tero, with his heart tied to the rich soil and the dedication of its farmers.

  • In 2010, he took his first official step by founding Almaz Seyoum Beyene Coffee Exporting Company.

  • Two years later, in 2012, he established washing and hulling stations in Dimtu Tero and Uraga, quickly gaining a reputation for quality and strong community connections.

  • By 2016, Getachew’s vision matured into the creation of the Dimtu Tero Farm, covering 151 hectares of fertile land.

“Dimtu Coffee was born from a simple vision: to honor the soil of Guji and the people who nurture it, while delivering uncompromising quality to every cup.”

Sucafina, Global Coffee Merchant

This coffee has his own character. A very classic Ethiopian fruitiness but also amazing creamy and rounded in. In the cup: Toffee, Peach, Earl Grey. Also some very unique notes of Dulce De Leche. Great pleasant citric finish that reminds me of Lemon Ice Cream.
